¿Que es y para que sirve un transformador?

Un transformador es una maquina eléctrica estática, que transforma la energía eléctrica, recibida en su primario, por lo regular, en otra energía eléctrica (secundario) de características distintas, bien sea cambiando las características de tensión, intensidad, etc.

el transformador es uno de los equipos eléctricos mas utilizado en las instalaciones de distribución eléctrica, pudiendo aumentar o disminuir la tensión, pudiendo así mismo aislar un circuito ecléctico de otro.

En la INDUSTRIA. un transformador se usa principal mente para disminuir el voltaje de la red de distribución de la compañía suministradora, así se puede manejar y utilizar la electricidad sin riesgo a los usuarios.

El devanado primario sera el que reciba la energía y el devanado secundario es el que la cede al  usuario en la industria.

Un transformador es una maquina estática, que por tal motivo no tiene perdidas mecánicas y por tal causa puede alcanzar rendimientos de hasta un 98%.

las perdidas en el transformador son en hierro de su núcleo (chapa magnética) y en el cobre o aluminio, que es el conductor de los devanados). estas perdidas modifican la relación de transformación ligeramente.
